Summer Bishil was born in New York City. She is best-known for her character, Margo Hanson, in Syfy's fantasy drama The Magicians. In the Alan Ball movie Towelhead, she played the 13-year old Lebanese American young girl Jasira that experiences a rollercoaster of emotions in the context that of U.S. invasion in Iraq in the Gulf War. In 2007, she was chosen by Variety as one of the 10 actors to watch. The role she played was another one of her most memorable characters Taslima Jahangir in 2009's thriller Crossing Over for which she received nominations for the Independent Spirit Award in the Best Female Leading Actress category. In addition, she has appeared in movies like The Mooz-lum The Last Airbender Pop Star and Under the Silver Lake and has played several guest roles on television apart from playing the co-lead in Lucky 7.
